URGENSI PENYELENGGARAAN PEMILIHAN SERENTAK GUNA MENINGKATKAN PARTISIPASI PADA PEMILIHAN GUBERNUR DAN WAKIL GUBERNUR
Abstract
Artikel ini menjelaskan tentang aspek utama yang mempengaruhi perbedaan tingkat partisipasi pemilih pada penyelenggaraan Pemilihan Gubernur dan Wakil Gubernur Jambi Tahun 2020 (Pilgub Jambi 2020) di masing-masing Kabupaten/Kota yang ada di Provinsi Jambi. Melalui metode penelitian studi kepustakaan, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa tingkat partisipasi pemilih pada Pilgub Jambi 2020 di masing-masing Kabupaten/Kota yang ada di Provinsi Jambi sangat dipengaruhi oleh penyelenggaraan Pemilihan Gubernur dan Wakil Gubernur yang diikuti dengan penyelenggaraan Pemilihan Bupati/Wali Kota di Kabupaten/Kota tersebut. Dari 11 (sebelas) Kabupaten/Kota di Provinsi Jambi, 5 (lima) diantaranya turut menyelenggarakan Pemilihan Bupati/Wali Kota. Ratarata tingkat partisipasi pemilih untuk Pilgub Jambi 2020 di 5 (lima) Kabupaten/Kota tersebut adalah sebesar 78.28 persen. Sedangkan di 6 (enam) Kabupaten/Kota lainnya, rata-rata tingkat partisipasi pemilih untuk Pilgub Jambi 2020 hanya sebesar 62.33 persen. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah perlunya penyelenggaraan pemilihan kepala daerah, baik di tingkat Kabupaten/Kota maupun provinsi yang diselenggarakan secara serentak untuk meningkatkan tingkat partisipasi pemilih pada Pemilihan Gubernur dan Wakil Gubernur.
